You are special to me...

Hi Everyone,

Today I want to show you a card that I made last week for a special friend. I hope she likes it.
I'm sorry for my short post but I'm really really sad because my grandfather passed away on Wednesday and he was like a father to me. One of the most important persons in my life. I want to thank you the prayers, the kind words and emails that I received in the last couple of days. THANK YOU! I really appreciate it.

I added glossy accent to the bow for more dimension.

Hi Everyone,

Normally I don't like to talk about my personal life in here but today I'm not having a good day. My grandfather is very ill, my daughter's birthday is on Saturday and as many of you know, she passed away a few years ago and on top of that next Sunday is Mother's Day so I'm having a tough week. Before I go I want to wish to all "HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY"  and I hope your days are filled with love and happy memories. I wish you all a SHOWERS OF LOVE...

Thank you so much for your comments and support. They make my day!

Embellishments: Pearls, Glossy accent (umbrella), stickles, white crackle paint, Flowers from WOC and some handmade flowers (dark pink flowers) following this AMAZING tutorial. Burlap fabric, eyelets, and some bells.

Hi Everyone,

Today is my turn to host the new challenge at "Magnolia Stamp Lovers" and for the next two weeks the theme will be easy and one of my favorites "FLOWERS". You need to make a card using any Tilda or Edwin with flowers in their hands or flowers around them. I decided this time to make a paper bag card using one of my favorite Magnolia stamp ("Tilda in the garden"). I'm sorry the pictures are not good but I tried a few times and  they either turned too dark or too light.

Tilda Ballerina...and Mom to be....

Hi Everyone,

Today I want to show you two cards that I made this week with the new Magnolia Princess and Princesses Collection. OMG!!! I'm in love with this collection!!!. Almost all the material used in these cards are from "Stampingscrapping.com"

For my first card I used this cute Tilda which is one of my favorites. I colored her dress with distress inks (a mix of "victorian velvet and tattered rose) For the ballerina shoes and the ribbon I used "aged mahogany". Also I added to her shoes and ribbons a "glossy accent" to give it more dimension.

Materials used...
Papers: MME- Lost & Found (Madison Avenue Collection)
(Skin- tattered rose. Chicks- tattered rose and worn lipstick. Dress- a mix of victorian velvet and tattered rose, hair- vintage photo. Shoes- aged magohany)
Tools: Nestabilities, twine, brads, pearls, charms, stickles, WOC flowers

For my second card I used this lovely and super cute Tilda "Mother to be". I love how sweet she looks holding her baby boom. I used a few layers of papers, WOF flowers and a lot of distress inks. I added to her shoes a little bit of "glossy accent" and some pocket dots to her dress.

I'm back and now living in a new city!!!

Hi Everyone,

It's been soooo long from my last post but I finally moved from Cleveland to a warmer North Carolina (also a little bit closer to home...Miami :) I am still settling down. Today I bought some more Recollections cubes from Michael's and am still organizing my scrapping supplies. I will show a few pictures of my new little corner soon.

My dear friend Cindy asked me to be part of her Magnolia Stamp Lover designer team and today is my first post for this week challenge. The talented girls from MSLDT wants you to make a card using just sentiment stamps from Magnolia. No Tilda's or Edwin's, just sentiment stamps. I must confess that I had a hard time because I never made a card with just a sentiment before, but at the end I liked the final result. I used the sentiment "God Jul" from Christmas-2008 collection. I added some "crackle accent" to the letters to give them more dimension. Below is the list with all the materials that I used. The challenge is running between until March 24th at 11:59pm

Stamp: "God Jul" from Magnolia Christmas Collection 2008
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black and Distress inks. ( I mixed a little bit of "Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain and Antique linen)
Papers: My Mind's Eye ( Lost & Found- Union Square Collection)
Tools: Spellbinders Nestabilities- Lacey Circles. Doohickey's Cutting Dies (Wedding Collecting Tilda Lace, Peony Petals and Spruce)
Embellishments: Crackle Accent, eyelets, brads and gold pearls. Liquid applique and platinum stickle.

Below is a card that I made for a friendly and nice lady that I met here in NC. Her mom's birthday was March 10th and she asked me to make something special for her. I wasn't happy with the result but this was my first card after 5 months without touching a ink or a brush...but she like it... :)

I wish you all a great weekend.

Magnolia New Collection and Fall Kit- 2011

Hi Ladies!

I know the stamping world is buzzing over the release of Magnolia's Sweet Dreams Christmas Collection for 2011 but yesterday I received my fall club kit and I want to share with you the pictures of the stamps that came in this kit. My favorite so far is the first Tilda with the hearts. I love that I will be able to use this stamp not just for Christmas but also for Birthday's or any other occasion. :)

Also I found this picture on Facebook. I can't wait for the new release even if I don't have much time to make cards this year I know they will have a special place in my collection. :)Enjoy!

Deep Ocean Challenge # 6- Light Blue..."Peace on Earth"

Hi Everyone,

I'm sorry but this is a short post. Today is my daughter's anniversary and I'm not having a good day. Here is my card for "Deep Ocean Challenge" This week challenge is "light blue". The papers that I used at the bottom were light blue in the beginning but when I added the "vintage photo" to distressed the corners they turned a bit blue-green. I just noticed it after taking the pictures. In real life it doesn't look so green. I'm so sorry about that :(

Hugs to all,

A paper bag card for Cindy...Lindsay's mom...

Hi Everyone,

Two weeks ago I received the terrible and sad news about Lindsay's death, who is the daughter of the "StampingScrapping.com" owner (the store where I purchase my Magnolia stamps). After having experienced a similar loss myself a few years ago with my only daughter, I felt very sad for days thinking that this is the only experience parents should never go through. I know that there is not much anyone can say in moments like this, reason why I decided to make a card for Lindsay's mom. This is my way of telling her that I care and I really sorry about what she's going through. Today I can show the card because she already received it.
